November 22, 2017 3 min read

Scuba diving is one of the best experiences that everyone should experience once in their lifetime. The sea is full of secrets and creatures which we may have never even heard of or seen before in our lives.

All this beauty of water can make anyone go crazy and curious to explore the inside. Things like the ship wrecks, the coral beds and marine life are mesmerizing enough be to give goosebumps.

Diving and photography are two activities that go hand in hand when you are diving in coral waters. Whoever goes inside the ocean have motive to come out with some of the best clicks one could only imagine. But this is not an easy task as diving itself is a tough task to pull off without supervision.

There are certain obstructions one needs to understand unless he/she has diving trip experience. Photographers can face some kind of barriers during the whole adventure.

So before, you plan to go in waters and take some pictures, it is important for you to be aware about the do’s and don'ts of clicking pictures below the ocean :-

DO’s

Carry clips and camera holder

It is essential to carry a camera holder with you which should be clubbed with a handy clip. Scuba divers carry clips with them in order to hold on to the things which are supposed to be useful during the dive. You can get similar clips so that your camera does not slip off accidently. Otherwise, this can ruined your whole diving experience.

Choose dedicated underwater cameras

There are specifically two types of camera, one that are waterproof others which are designed for underwater diving conditions. Waterproof cameras are rugged and tough which can survive harsh climatic conditions easily but are not useful to take down with you in the ocean.

On the other side, There are cameras which are designed specifically to perfectly meet the diving requirements. These cameras can record 4k resolution videos and are capable to perform as deep as you are authorised to go.

Don’ts

Check rules and regulations

There are chances that you may not be allowed to do photography at certain dive spots. Not only photography, it is also possible that you may not get permit to dive into specific wreck of ships and area. So be careful and check once the area of ocean you are choosing is permissible or not? Otherwise you may need to pay heavy penalty for just clicking pictures.

Cover your camera

We already mentioned above that buying a dedicated camera for the dive is a good choice and will perfectly meet the demand. Though buying a dedicated camera doesn’t imply it is protected from all kind of damages. We agree that cameras designed for water are rugged and tough. But still they can get damaged from unseen accidents so cover your camera with some solid glass or tempered cover which is able to provide protection to the device inside out.

Final call

The world beneath the ocean surface is an amazing visual for the naked eye. Who wouldn’t want to take these memories with them? All we recommend you in the end is to always take an expert with you who can lead and guide you through your scuba trip.
