PADI AWARE Dive Against Debris Specialty Course

Do you want to make a difference on every dive but are not sure where to begin? Gain the knowledge and skills to activate your inner citizen scientist by taking the Dive Against Debris® Specialty. You’ll learn to complete Dive Against Debris surveys under the guidance of one of our instructors and help keep you your local dive sites healthier by removing trash.

Who can enroll?

This course is open to divers who are:

  • At least 12 years old.
  • Certified as PADI Open Water Diver (Junior) or equivalent.
  • Able to either answer NO to all questions on the standard Medical History Form or secure a physician’s approval prior to the start of class.

What is involved?

This course consists of:

  • Self study (online guide)
  • Two open water training dive 

Where and when do classes take place?

Self study takes place at the comfort of your home. Open water dives take place at one of more than 50 dive sites that we have to offer.

Dive Against Debris classes start at any time. Open water training dive is done on any day of the week. All activities take place by appointment only.

What is included in the cost?

The course fee is $249 per person and includes:

  • All instruction.
  • Two open water training dives
  • Asa courtesy the use of regulator, bcd, tanks and weights.
  • Certification card processing.

    What equipment will you need?

    Students are responsible for supplying all of the equipment items listed below:

    • Scuba mask, scuba snorkel, scuba fins.+
    • Adequate exposure protection.* +
    • Slate. +
    • Bathing suit and towel.
